Sales Director, (an Asian FMCG company)

Location: South of China

REPORTS TO: President and Managing Director

The COMPANY:  Our client is a 100% owned subsidiary of an          Asia company and world leader in the spirits          and wines products.

As the company expands in China, their focus is on achieving quality, innovation and a dynamic approach to commercial development.

- Responsibility

  • Align the direction and development of the sales team and strategy with the strategic objectives of the Company;
  • Entails full responsibility for the sales function of the Company;
  • Achieve company’s objectives in terms of sales, volumes, margin and credit risk management (in conjunction with Finance);
  • Manage in an open and positive manner relationships with employees, management and external business partners;
  • Involves sitting on the Company’s Board of Directs. As such, participation and involvement is required in all facets of business and management of the Company


The main responsibilities are to:

  • Based on marketing strategy and analysis of the distribution environment, determine sales objectives by channel;
  • Translate overall sales objectives into specific targets for the sales team; regularly monitor the progress and recommend appropriate corrective actions;
  • Continuously review and develop effective trading terms (i.e. pricing by channel, discounts, etc….) which are consistent with the marketing and financial objectives of the Company;
  • Establish and appropriately skilled sales structure which is aligned with the agreed sales objectives;
  • Ensure the recruitment and continuity of high quality personnel in the department through implementing effective selection, recruitment, professional development, training and performance assessment processes;
  • Ensure a high quality relationship with key customers;
  • Have primary responsibility for ensuring customer service levels are in line with the objectives established by the Company;
  • Ensure the sales department works effectively with Finance in managing the debtor risk assessment and collection processes in line with the policies established by the Company;
  • Ensure a high level of communication and cooperation with other departments;
  • Develop and maintain an effective sales forecasting systems
